We Are The Family Of God, and as such we are His children. As early as the Garden of Eden, at the very dawn of creation, God points to the family as the place where His image is revealed. God speaks through Moses in Deuteronomy 6 to reveal His nature to the children of Israel, and then He does something incredible. God calls families to model His nature themselves & allow it to infiltrate every area of their lives. But He doesn’t stop there. Jesus then lets us in on a wonderful secret... God hasn’t just placed us in individual families, but as members of the body of Christ, we are the Family of God. With all of our faults & failures, personalities & quirks, gifts & talents, we belong! And it is within the context of this family that God reveals Himself as The Father - the answer to our heart’s cry for Him as our “Abba” which literally means “Daddy.”
